Starting a blog requires a unique perspective. Since anyone with computer access can start a blog, you need to be able to separate your blog from the rest of the pack with unique content. Do you desire to learn how to create your own blog which stands above your competition? Here are a few ideas that I have learned along the way that “Writing a blog: Make it work for you” may help…Read on!
Blog Frequently
Always make sure to blog on a regular basis. A common mistake a lot of beginning bloggers make is creating a blog but not updating it often enough. People who were interested in your blog at first will soon become bored, as they wait for updated content. Once a week is good for both updating blogs (adding new content) and sending out emails.
A better approach is to post new content daily. Now for some people this maybe too much. Here is a tip: I will take an evening ( 2-3 hours) and write 3 to 4 posts. These may not be complete but they are the start. Then during the week I will recall one of the posts and finish writing or grab another post and add content. As I complete one I will then post it on my blog. This way I am always 3-4-5 post ahead and have others in the “development stage”.
Guest Post
You should allow guest posts to help increase blog traffic. This is a great way to network with other bloggers. Cultivating quality relationships may allow you to reap unexpected rewards. You may need a favor down the line, and the blogger whose guest post you hosted may be willing and able to help you.
Additional Comments on Posting Frequently
Post new content frequently on your blog to keep your readers interested and they will have the incentive to come back to your website regularly. The top blogs post many times each day! A smart step to prepare for an aggressive posting schedule like this is building up a backlog of two weeks’ worth of posts before you start blog posting. Then you can use one from this backlog of posts for the days you can’t seem to come up with anything to say. This will mean that you still have some content to post even if you have a day when you can’t write anything.
Patience is one of the most important parts of growing your list of readers. People aren’t going to magically stumble upon your blog over night; it takes time to build an audience. There also won’t be much for people to read until you have built up a good backlog of content. The longer your blog is around, and the more posts you write, the more readers you’ll get.
Finding Topics
When I coach blogging, one of the most common questions I get is “where do I get content or what do I write about?” Would you be shocked to learn that this is the easiest part of blogging.
Have you read a book? Post comments on what you read. Did you attend a Webinar? Post comments on what you learned. Are you taking some courses on “Home Based Business”, “Network Marketing”, “Affiliate Marketing” or have you learned some tips or ideas on how to use “Facebook”, “Twitter”, “Instagram”, and a host of others? Post your findings.
Du you have a business? Maybe you are working with an MLM Company or an Affiliate Company..give some information (DO NOT SELL) about the company or tips on how to use the products or services.
Finding topics you love and have a passion for is key in blogging. When you are writing about things that you actually care about, you will seem more interesting and more sincere. This will translate well to your readers, increasing their commitment to return.
It is worth keeping in mind that your blog is an informal mode of communication, and your writing should reflect that. Readers want to be entertained, meet new people, and get information, help solve issues and tips from blogs. Make sure your posts reflect that. You want to connect to your reader base in a fun, informal manner so that they will come back for more.
Don’t try to just write a lot of content on your blog that has nothing to do with anything. Find a topic that suits your blog, and research it carefully. If you write about topics that are wrong for your blog, or those in which you aren’t interested, you probably won’t enjoy much success. Content is what makes a blog succeed or fail.
Here is an example: Your blog is mainly about Nutrition. Keep your blog on the subject with interesting information and advice. Stay with the subject matter. I see so many blogs that don’t pertain to the idea behind the blog. Again let’s say the blog is Nutrition, your readers are not interested in “How to clean a house”, or ” The latest on bird baths.” even “Tips on How To Use The Computer To Get FREE Leads” These titles do not address the subject your readers are looking for.
Finally
You must maintain a regular posting schedule to make your site remain credible. Staying consistent will ensure that return readers will be pleased by what they find, and it’s less likely that they’ll turn to other blogs. Use good “Keywords” and good “Content” in your blog so the search engines can find you. Keep your blog within the idea of the blog. Use H1, H2 , H3 titles. Add pictures or photos. BE YourSelf.
Once you have established a well-written and unique blog, you can sit back and wait as the visitor count increases. Having said that, “sit back” is not a good idea. Sit back means that once your blog is established, you can cut back on the number of blog posts you make. Remember, blogging is your “job”. If your home business or any business wants new customers or distributors, never “sit back and wait.” That is a killer to any business.
Use the tips suggested in this article if you want to increase your number of followers.
