Over the years I find that so many of us tend to complicate our lives. The same is true when it comes to having home business or a network marketing business.
We complicate the —- out of it.
By Focusing on one thing or idea you soon will become the expert in that subject or thing.
Let’s take a carpenter. A carpenter does one thing, build using tools. Does a carpenter repair automobile engines? Of course not. Does a mechanic build houses? Of course not.
Now lets take a network marketer. Most network marketers prospect, recruit, train, sell, market, demonstrate, home parties, flyers, mentor or be mentored and who know’s what else.
Then when it comes to “marketing,” they use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Linkedin, Pintrest, Google+, Instagram and the list goes on. In fact there are “The Top 25 Social Networking Sites People Are Using.”
So is it any wonder why people tend to complicate their marketing efforts. But when you look at what we can do to build a successful MLM business or Network Marketing business, it has never been easier to become an authority in your product/services and the media you choose to grow or build your business.
To become an Expert Authority you need to consternate and focus on one and only one thing. If that one thing is Google+ then become an expert authority in Google+. Not Facebook, Linkedin or the other top social networking sites people are using today.
Lets take a look at 5 Tips To Becoming An Expert
As I said, it’s never been easier to become an Expert Authority in your niche or media you choose. But that doesn’t mean it won’t take work. Far from it. You’ll have to work your butt off, but in the end (no pun taken) it will be totally worth it. My good friend Kate worked 7 months everyday, sun up to sun down building her network marketing business. Today she works 3-4 days and maybe 5 hours. She Worked her business as a business.
Work, for some the word is hard to swallow. Yes anything you want will take work. Lets define “WORK”
Here are 5 tips to becoming an expert or how to get started:
1. Make The Decision You WANT To Become An Expert Authority
No one is going to appoint you the expert authority of your niche. YOU are the only one who gets to decide.
However, just because you make the decision doesn’t make it so. Now you have to get down to work and make it happen. I can tell you it will take determination and focus.
2. Be Willing To Put In The Time
So many times I see people put in a few weeks of hard work only to give up or QUIT because they see no results. A good friend and successful business executive told me that: “What you do today, you will not see the results for 6-7 months.” This is why planning is so important. Plan on working today and seeing the results 6 months from now. There is NO Quitting In Network Marketing.
At the No Excuses Summit 7, one of the presenters Lisa Grossman took the stage and presented a concept that was a total game changer for those looking to become an Expert Authority.
Amazing, she said, “that anyone can be proficient in whatever they wish in 20 hours of work.” Think about that…20 hours of work and you can become proficient. While that doesn’t necessarily make you an expert authority, it puts time in perspective. Not only that it will put you above everyone else who will not put in the 20 hours.
Consistently adding to your knowledge of a subject will put you closer and closer to your goal of becoming an Expert Authority.
3. Put That Knowledge Into Practice
In any form of marketing, knowledge is POWER, which is only realized upon implementation.
You just can’t have the knowledge, you must apply that knowledge to get results you desire. Then you can tweak that knowledge to your approach and get better, faster results.
It’s this practice of implementing, tweaking, applying and finally scaling your results that will “put you on the map of Expert” in your niche.
This much I know to be true — if you don’t have quantifiable results, you cannot call yourself an Expert Authority. So your next step is to Get To Work.
4. Teach What You Learn
The next step in becoming an Expert Authority is to TEACH what you’ve learned. In an earlier career, I would teach very high tech subjects to professional technicians. At the beginning of class, I would say to them, “I will learn more from teaching this subject than you will learn.” Why? Because the shear task of teaching you are learning.
If you keep everything to yourself, you’ll never develop that loyal audience of followers which is necessary if you want to become an Expert Authority.

This formula of Learn, Implement, Teach and letting everyone know your results is what will take you from success story to Expert Authority in your niche in a very short time.
The mechanism by which you Teach (blogging, video, webinars) is not as important as consistently doing so. Get into the habit of Learning every day, Implement what you learned, Teach others what you learned and implemented.
Where do you Learn? From experts, books, magazines, Webinars, seminars, blog post such as this one, your up-line or leaders in you MLM Company and even loved ones.
5. Be Trustworthy… Always
You can do everything right — Learning, Implementing, and Teach — but if people don’t trust you, they’ll never recognize you as the Expert Authority in your niche.
People have to know that you have their back, that you’re in their corner and that you have their best interests at heart if you want to build a loyal following.
That means always keeping your word and making money secondary in your business. Your primary goal must be helping others to succeed faster than you have.
To give you an example: I know of a lady in a professional market. All she sees is money in her customers. They come to see her for help….she charges them. They need some of her “adjustments”…she charges them. They need her to “clean” the product…she charges them. She sends out post cards to come in for…what ever…so she can charge them. Everything she does is to make money. While that’s not a bad thing, there comes a time when just “being there is more valuable.” She does nothing to build trust but only sees money in her customers. What do you think her long term success will be?
