This is an open letter to anyone in Network Marketing or Direct Selling. The comments also apply if you are involved in Affiliate Marketing or any type of business in which you actively try to recruit other people.
Network Marketing can be a difficult business to start!
These are difficult business to get started!!
The main problem is not the company or the program or the products or even the compensation plan, the problem are the people who recruit other people and/or the people who sign up thinking they will make a lot of money.
While some do make money with these programs, the vast majorities fail. Why do they fail?
- Unrealistic goals
- Wrong mind set
- Lack of leadership skills
- No direction
- Lack of commitment
- Lack of business/marketing knowledge
- No mentor
- A lot of Hype from the recruiter and Company
So with that in mind, here is the open letter as to my personal experience:
It’s not easy to admit… that when I was first got started in Network Marketing, I had to re-build my business 6 times. Yes, 6 times! I would get it going and generate a little income; I also got some new recruits, and then Poof! Like a cloud of smoke it would all fall apart right in front of my eyes. I never understood why I couldn’t keep people motivated and involved.
I soon realized that I was doing all the work, and my new recruits were just watching me do all the work… my mistake was that I never taught them how to do it for themselves, nor could they even begin to duplicate my process. As a result my dropout rate happened almost as fast as I could recruit them... Can you relate to this??
After many months of frustration and multiple businesses, I finally realized I was missing the secret sauce, the glue to hold it all together, the key to leadership and freedom. And in network marketing the secret sauce is Duplication.
Duplication: Is the process of Replication, Doubling, Copying.
Do you know why fast food restaurants such as McDonalds, Wendy’s, and Burger King are so successful even with 18-year-old shift managers? It’s because they have a SYSTEM and they teach that system to anyone who works there. They have made it foolproof.
All successful businesses have systems, they have processes, and they make them easy for anyone to learn.
So why do we make it so hard on ourselves and for new people who join our business opportunity? Why don’t we have a system, a checklist, and an outline of step-by-step process to create a successful business?
So the question remains, are you struggling to get your new people started? Or struggling to retain them once they do signup? I did. That’s because I didn’t have a SYSTEM! I did what my up-line told me to do. I did what the Company told me to do. I did what other people were doing. Not really knowing that my up-line was struggling as well as the other people.
Once I figured out, I needed a system to get new distributors started on the right path, the rest of my business just fell into place. I was able to quickly duplicate and retain my distributors. Fast dropout rate was a thing of the past.
I’m not going to tell you that I did this by myself. I had help. But I also had the desire. I had the motivation and I had a mentor.
The real success to Network Marketing, the Secret Sauce to Network Marketing is Duplication. You already know this. Your Company has told you recruit anyone and everyone. Your up-line told you to recruit anyone and everyone. Other people in the business, has told you to recruit everyone and everyone.
THEY ARE WRONG!!
You don’t recruit everyone and everyone. That is the recipe for failure.
You only recruit those people who have met YOUR requirements. It’s not Mom or Dad or family members or personal friends. It’s those who have met your Avatar.
Do not be afraid to walk away from anyone who does not meet your Avatar.
That is the Secret Sauce To Duplication.
As mentioned above, I didn’t come up this SYSTEM by myself. I use and studied Attraction Marketing.
This single concept had been the Secret Sauce to many other successful Network Marketers and the only system with a proven track record for success in Network Marketing.
Attraction Marketing is easy to implement. It is the only program I recommend to my distributors.
