Domains can cost under $10 a year, and it is important to get one that is relevant to your business before someone else does. Working for yourself means that a lot of expenses you would pay for anyway can now be deducted from taxes as business expenses. Be sure to keep track of all expenses, no matter how small, because they add up quickly.

To make your customers feel special, give them personalized service. Pack a little something extra with their orders, or write them a nice thank-you note, letting them know how grateful you are for their business. People love freebies and they also love to be appreciated. Make it known to your customer that you appreciate their business.

Write a detailed business plan for your work from home business. Your business plan may change a little or a great deal over time. No matter what, a business plan is essential for keeping your business, and you, on track and focused on the goals you want your business to reach. Update your business plan periodically.

It can be easy to let your clients skate by when it comes to paying on time, especially when you are also trying to build relationships with them. However, you have to keep in mind that this can have a huge effect on your bottom line. Make sure you set up payment terms that are clear for all your invoices and documents, along with a reasonable penalty, like eight percent, over what the invoice amount is, if the overall total isn’t paid within the normal payment terms.

As you can see, it will require a little bit of work and dedication to make the jump. If you can manage to pull through and stick to the plan, you will be able to accurately represent your dream in the company’s image and create something that is long-lasting and profitable over the years.

If you are out of stock in a particular item, be sure to let your clients know about it. Customers find it especially frustrating when orders they’ve placed will not be fulfilled for several days, let alone weeks. Give your customers the option of choosing another product by making it clear when an item is on back-order.
