Blogging is the most obvious way to create an online presence.  A good blog can provide you with a valuable online reputation and open up a lot of opportunities to you. If you have a small home based business, writing a blog can help you grow it.  Do you have a network marketing business?  Blog about it.  Are you making money by blogging?  Tell your readers and direct them to your money making opportunity.  If you just want to voice your opinion on a subject which you have expertise, you can be paid to share your thoughts via your blog.

Never copy anything you write in your blog. Plagiarism is dishonest, and it is the surest way to ruin your reputation and destroy any chance you have of creating a popular blog. Finding success in a blog does not require you to write like a professional. The important thing you need to have is passion about the things that you are writing.  If you do copy someone else’s blog, give them credit.  If not you will soon lose credibility.

Don’t forget about pursuits in your life other than your blog. When you fail to take time away from your computer to enjoy all that life has to offer it can lead to obsessive behaviors, often resulting in blog burnout. Make time to go for a walk, visit with friends or just take a five minute break. Taking a break like this allows you to return to your blog with a fresh perspective so you can write some outstanding content.

Create a blog which stands out from the crowd. Stick with interesting, unique content. You’ll get the same result by having information that is hard to locate. Consider writing about your hobby, or an experience you can share that few people have had. Describe the construction of a widget in excruciating detail. The idea is to provide readers with a reason to look for posts on your site.

Social Media and your Blog

Provide easy access to social media links on your blog, so your viewers can follow you. Sites like Facebook and Twitter, among others, will give you a big advantage and add to your recognition, credibility and popularity as a writer. With these portals, you can contact your readers and attract additional followers.
