Network Marketing Ideas For A Better, Less Headache Life.

Network Marketing doesn’t have to be a headache. Let me explain, most old school Network Marketing companies completely rely on offline techniques such as randomly picking out people in shopping malls, parking lots, birthday parties, notes on windshields, friends and family, who do you know list, “if they are breathing..PITCH THEM” and so on with the intention of getting them into your business.  Well, I did that for a while and to be honest, it was a headache, unprofessional and DUMB. For months I struggled to see results but all I attracted into my business was “tire kickers”, “just looking” and “hand holders”. I was ready to quit and go back to my job.

What Happened Next Saved My Business

I came across a couple who were full time network marketers and have been for many years.  While setting with them, they analyzed what I was doing and then they went on to help me establish my network marketing business.  Couple key elements were:  “You Are Doing It Wrong”, “Lack Of Focus” And “Never Quit”.

For some marketers when the road becomes rocky, they quit.  Quit to move on to the next big adventure only to quit.  What they described to me was, quit only if you are not comfortable with the product.  Quit only if you don’t like the compassion plan.  And quit only if the company is too rigid in how to do business.  Don’t quit because of your Upline or Downline.  This is your business and the responsibility of success is yours and yours only.

The second element was:  LACK OF FOCUS.  Too many network marketers lack focus.  Do one thing well, master the strategy.  Then learn another.  Too many times a network marketer will start one social media program only to move to another.  How is this done?  Very simple.  Look at all the available social media programs available:  FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE, TWITTER, LINKEDIN, etc.  Which one?  Well what happens is most marketers, might start with…. Facebook only to be swayed by an expert to… Blogging or to Twitter or…Youtube and then in another media.  Remember, these experts spent months or years perfecting that one media.  You need to pick one social media and master it until you become the expert.  Follow the advice of your mentor or your desire.

True Story

A good friend started his business using Facebook.  Several months he was wooed to Blogging. Couple months later he was doing Youtube.  Bottom line, he never became good at any of them and his business shows it.

All of these programs are excellent ways of making money online. So how do you choose the one that is best?  That is up to you.  What do you feel comfortable with?  If being on camera is uncomfortable don’t go into video.  Let’s say you have a problem with writing.  Don’t blog or do article writing.

Look at each of these programs carefully then pick one that is most attractive to you.  Again, let’s say you’re not comfortable with Blogging but it is better than the others.  Start Blogging.  Learn all you can about the media.  It might take several months or even years but soon you will be great at Blogging and become a Master Blogger. However, while doing this it is important to ignore the other social media programs even if it sound too good to be true.  Remember it will be there when you are ready.

The same is true for…maybe Youtube. You may be uncomfortable in front of a camera.  Only time will get you comfortable.  Also remember, you don’t have to be in front of a camera. Produce content and then narrate it on Youtube.

How I Did It

Here’s how I did it. I listed all the available social media programs including MLM traditional marketing (friends, family and people I haven’t met yet), Pay Per Click.   In each social media column I put my Strengths/Weakness and Like.  For instance, Youtube:  my strengths, can speak well, good voice inflections. My weakness, not comfortable, I stare, I do “an-does”, “ah” while I speak. For Like, would like to do, willing to get better, intrigued with video.

This took me a week to do but by the end of the week I had narrowed it down to 2.  From there I picked one and started learning all I could. With the help of my mentor I became good at my chosen format.  Today, I am now learning my second social media program.  IT IS NOT EASY!!!

Why Did I Do This Time Consuming Exercise?

I was frustrated with lack of results that I was getting from old school ways of Network Marketing. I was moving on from one program then another and not Focusing on my Goals.

Best advice:  If you have a network marketing company you like…stay with it Don’t Quit.  Get all the help you can.  Learn ONE social media program…say with it Don’t Quit.  Stay with it until you have mastered the program.  Find a Mentor.  Someone who can help you with your chosen media.  Purchase a training course from them.  Purchase several if necessary. Get books on the media and read several times.  Call or email the person whose course you’re taking and ask for some additional help if you’re stuck.  But stay with it.. do not jump around from one subject to another.

Third element:  Your Doing It Wrong. Not everyone is cut out to be a network marketer.  Be careful and diligent in who you want in your network marketing business.  Remember this is your business.  As in any business, there is an interview and hiring process.  You’re  no different.  Choose you’re prospects wisely.  Remember for every 10 people sponsored 9 will do little or nothing.  Out of a 100 presentation you will have 20 people. Six of which will do something, two to three will build a business, the rest will go away.

Be smart..this is a Business..Not a Hobby.  Treat is as a business and you could be the next millionaire in Network Marketing.
