The Gold Was Only 3 Feet Away
Here is a story of a man who long time ago went out to the gold rush in Alaska. He staked his claim, and worked like a madman to find gold and become rich.
He worked his claim for a long time, day in and day out. However he never found what he was searching for and finally gave up, thinking that he was never going to reach his goal. Frustrated, he sold his claim and all of his equipment to another miner and thought he was getting the good deal…
Well, the new miner that bought it from him only had to dig 3 more feet before he hit a gold vein and made it rich.
Blogging and Network Marketing
This blogging and network marketing business is such a parallel to that story, because I see so many people that do the same thing…just when all the lights turn green, they quit stopping 3 feet from their goal.
…in fact, I’ve done the same thing more than once. How do I know? I had a small business in Texas that was earning some money but not what I needed. Someone approached me and offered to purchase the small business.
I did and went away to begin a new home based business in network marketing. Six months later, I met up with the person who purchase my business. He was able to expand the business by 30 % and sold it to another buyer for 4 times what he bought it from me. Lesson learned.
I was only 3 feet way from making that business work.
A great book to read is called: “Acres Of Diamonds” The book talks about the very same thing I talked about at the beginning. The author talks about a person who wanted fame and riches. 
He traveled all over the world only to end up broke. He died lonely and a broken man. However, in his own back yard was diamonds. All he had to do was to look. Short book but excellent reading.
Stopping 3 Feet From Gold

Now, lets tell the rest of our gold miner’s story. Rather than whining and bitching about how life isn’t fair, he said, “I’m never stopping three feet from gold again.” He decided that day that when he had a goal, he wasn’t going to quit until he achieved it.
Our miner friend went on to be a millionaire and this was back in the early 1900′s.
Always stay true to your dreams and goals, take credit for where you are at and give credit when credit is due.
