Let me first say, that if you are struggling with your business, You Don’t Have To!

Network Marketing is an incredible business for anyone interested in making some part-time money with the opportunity to make full-time income.  One fact about network marketing that makes it a great opportunity is the low start-up cost.

This is also a problem.  When you have little money invested, your commitment is not as great.  Invest $100,000 in something and your commitment is unwavering.  Why?  “I need to recoup my $100,000.”

Look at any franchise and your looking at thousands, even hundred of thousands of dollars to even open the doors.  And that does not include customers.  Franchises also require a “franchise fee.”  This fee is a percentage or royalty just to keep the franchise.  Many say that when you buy a franchise you just bought a JOB.

Now lets look at a brick and mortar business.  If it’s a retail store, remember you only derive income when someone purchases.  This means you must be open when your customers are ready to purchase.

Just as the franchise, you now have a JOB.  No days off, no vacations and employees.  What happens when the area changes and a new area of town begins to expand?

I know because I had a business for 20 years.  My start up cost was high.  During that time, we enjoyed 4 vacations.  I had maybe 12 days in which I was too sick to come in.  Christmas, New Year’s and 4th Of July were the only holidays we were closed.  Then 3 new competitors opened within blocks away.

So the question still remains, “Why Struggle when there is an alterative.”

Network Marketing is more than a career, more than a profession. It is a way of life. A far better way of life.

When I was introduced to network marketing I was trying to pay off college bills, run a business, house payments, kids school, car and every day living.  Savings was nonexistence.  Working at my job for 10-12 hours a day plus the hours of drive time every week.

The person who introduced me to network marketing was working 4-5 hours a day 3 days a week.  He and his family took 3 months off every years to travel.

I thought network marketing was one of those things “where only people at the top make money” and where you just “lose your friends”. In fact it is the exact opposite. One of the first challenges we all face are the dream stealers disguised as friends and family. This was my first challenge. My friends and family thought I was crazy and that I was throwing away my business.

I began like most people in network marketing, making a list of people I knew and those I have met over the years.  I attended training sessions, rallies, meetings and did all I was told and still I struggled with my business opportunity.

After a few years in my business, I look back and see that my decision to make MLM my career, was a good decision.  Did I struggle?  Of course.  Did I quit?  Of course.  Did I change from one MLM Company to another?  Sure did.

But what I found was a common bond among my fellow network marketers.  I gained people skills.  I learned a lot about myself.

Looking back, network marketing changed my life beyond my wildest imagination.

But… despite my love for the business model, I am disturbed as I meet so many intelligent, dedicated, hard-working individuals who are frustrated and confused, because they are not seeing the results they expected. I often get asked, “Why am I not seeing the result I was told would happen.”  Another question, “Why should I continue, I am frustrated and my family and friends now ignore me.  Where is the MONEY?”

There are so many things we all do every day that we think are Right or Almost Right, yet don’t bring us the results we expect. I am totally convinced the small adjustments between “Right or Almost Right” make all the difference in our success.

How did I stop struggling in network marketing and began making money?

As I thought about that question several things comes to mind.

Consistency, Faith, Focus, Never Giving Up and Most Important, I learned Attraction Marketing and the world was at my door.

CONSISTENT… Consistency is like swinging a bat – you just have to keep swinging. If you are not consistent, you are starting over all the time.

PERSISTANCE…You have to have persistence to keep going when the picture is not clear and the money is not there. It is difficult to pay the price when the picture is not clear, but you must have persistence that in the long term, your persistence will pay off.

FOCUS… Another word for Focus is to avoid “shinny objects.” Every day I am distracted by emails claiming new and better, offers to join and other shinny objects.  Then there are daily distractions.  Don’t let life’s challenges distract you or Shinny Objects move you away from your focus. Our biggest competition is life itself, with all the daily demands that can take us off focus. I promise you that laser focus will make your dreams your reality.

ATTRACTION MARKETING…My biggest breakthrough in network marketing was learning Attraction Marketing:  The ability to make friends first before I ever talk about a business.  Solving other people’s problems.  Becoming a person they like, know and trust.

If you are struggling in your business, adopt the things that will make you successful…Consistency…Persistent…Focus…Attraction Marketing.

Just one more thing, never underestimate the impact each of the above step have on your success, every decision you make has on the outcome of your life and success.  Miss just one of the steps and your chance of success becomes more difficult.

You can make this year your best year ever, if you embrace and believe that success comes as Small Step to the TOP.  Small steps taken every day.
