If you are completely new to the network marketing opportunity, then you are probably thinking that some helpful tips on network marketing will help you so that you can begin your own career in this exciting career field.
Let me start with the headline: Network Marketing Can Be Very Easy | Think Like A CEO. Is network marketing easy or is it hard? And the answer is YES.
If you make it Hard…then it is Hard. If you think network marketing is Easy…then it is Easy. It’s all what you think it is.
Question: Was riding a bike easy or hard? If your like many, it was hard until you mastered the concept. How long did that take? A few days or a few weeks?
Network marketing is no different. It will be difficult in the beginning until you learn the concepts. Once you have mastered the concepts, network marketing is really easy and profitable.
Beginning Tips
Listed in this article are some tips to get you started with your network marketing business.
You have now signed up with your sponsor. He/she will be your main contact. Listen to what they have to say and follow their directions until you are comfortable to “Go-It-Alone.”
I’m reminded of one of my college professors: “Learn all you can from your boss and teammates. Follow their directions even of you don’t agree. Know what is expected, and do it! Once you have gained the knowledge of your job, start to offer suggestion to improve and become a leader.”
With your new business, what is your objective? This is very important in any business career.
Remember your new, and just like my college professor learn all you can from your sponsor and teammates. Don’t try to create a new wheel, stay with their leadership.
In any new business even your job, what is the objective?
Defining your objection is an important step. What do you want your network marketing business to accomplish?
The wrong answer is “To Make Money.” Way too broad. Do you want money or do you want, what money will buy?
At your job, was the objective “to make money?” NO! The money was the by-product of your job. The job was to produce something. At the end of the week you got paid for something you did for the company.
You must know what are you trying to do with your network marketing business?
All the hype is over, the picture your sponsor painted, the circles or drawing is over, the vision of unlimited income is over. It is now time to get down to business and become a CEO!!!
To be a CEO you need to define your objective. What do you want your new company to produce?
As the CEO do you want:
- To pay off bills?
- Save for the kids college fund?
- Take a exotic travel adventure?
- Quit your job?
- Buy a new home?
- Buy a boat?
- Buy a car?
- Create a business to be financially free?
- Self recognition?
- Or all of the above?
Define your objective with the “end point” clearly defined.
Here’s what I mean. The end point is to buy a new home.
- When do you want that home?
- How much is the price of a new home?
- Where is the new home located?
- How many bedrooms, baths?
- Does it have a fireplace?
- How big is the yard?
- Does the new home have a swimming pool?
Once you have all this well defined, your objection is create an income to afford your home. With out knowing the end in mind, how are you going to achieve your goal?
The same goes for that new car, boat, travel, etc;
Know your objective, keep in mind the “end point” and work toward that objective. Once you have completed that single objective…move toward the next one. ONLY ONE OBJECTIVE AT A TIME!
You never want to confuse yourself with too many, because it will only offer pressure to you and your new business. One Objective!
Think Like A CEO
In order for your network marketing business to be a success, you must begin to think like a CEO.
A CEO has a vision, conviction, and clearing defined objectives.
When you manage your company with strong convictions, your customers, and down-line are assured that you believe in your products and services. As a result, they will always be comfortable doing business with you or signing-up under your leadership.
Will everyone sign-up to your business? Of course not. As the CEO, pay attention to the reasons why people don’t sign up. This will give you the information you need to know to be able to turn their objections around. Or the opportunity for you make changes to your presentation.
Overcoming people’s hesitance is an art form and the more information you have the more likely you will succeed at it.
At this point you need to know your “target audience.” Who are you trying to attract to your business?
- Is it family and friends? NO NO!
- Is it strangers? NO NO!
- Is it people who want what you have to offer? YES YES!
Defining your target audience or Avatar is an important step that all CEO do with their company.
Here’s How To Create Your Avatar
Take NIKE. Do they know who their buyers are? Sure do and they target those people.
Everyone Is A Prospect
One of the biggest pitfalls that people involved in network marketing encounter is, “Everyone Is A Prospect.”
Your business will fall apart with that mentally.
Talk to any successful marketer and they will tell you that as soon as they defined their right prospect, the business began to grow.
Sponsor the wrong person and you will be spending your valuable time working with them.
Example: I sponsored a couple in my earlier days. I worked with them, showing how to sponsor, the products, how to draw “circles” and the comp plan. We had a corporate event in which the owners were to be in attendance. I tried for days to reach out to them. I even offered to drive them to the event. The day before the event, I received a phone call. They decided to go to a”truck demolition” instead. Were they committed? No. Did they quit Yes. Did I waste several months of my time? Yes. Did I learn a valuable lesson? Yes.
Learn How To Find People Willing To Join You and Your Network Marketing Business Opportunity
Even though network marketing can give you results very quickly, it is not a get rich quick scheme. It requires work! It requires dedication, and it requires focus. Therefore, to be successful you should treat it like any other job and set hours each day dedicated to your job.
Again, is everyone a prospect? NO. As the CEO of a very successful business, you have to learn how to “hire” (sponsor) the right person.
Presentation
When you find a quality prospect, someone who is willing to hear what you have to say and is generally interested, your presentation is important.
Practice…practice…practice your presentation. One of the worst thing you can do when talking to a prospect is to sound like a canned speech. Your presentation need to flow effetely.
Have you ever gone to a movie? Notice how the actors know’s their lines. Now imagine going to a movie and the actors talk in one tone with no emotion. Your job is to know what you want your prospect to hear.
In network marketing, the initial presentation is very important, but the follow-up presentation is where you’re going to land most of your customers or recruits. When you follow up with a person, you’re showing them that this is a legitimate opportunity you’re willing to invest the time and effort, so they’ll be more comfortable.
Before I make any presentation, I asked question first. What is the prospect’s “HOT BUTTON.” Important!
Does your prospect need to purchase a new car because the old one is just barely running? Buy knowing this, you can alter your “practiced” presentation to show how they can get that new car with your help.
Your prospect just lost a promotion at their job. They are frustrated. Work this to your advantage by showing them how they can create a part-time income and be promoted along the way. Many people love recognition…show they how they can be recognized.
Again, know your basic presentation and alter it to fit your prospects, hot button.
Then be prepared to answer question. Answer truthfully. If they ask, “Are you new?” Answer by saying “Yes, however I have a great sponsor who is helping me and will help you.” If they ask, “How much money are you making?” Answer truthfully. If you haven’t make any money, tell them, “I haven’t made anything yet because I’ve just started, however my goal is $XXX, XXX and I will get there!!”
I had a sponsor who when asked, “How much money are you making? Responded with, “I haven’t made anything yet, but my goal is $XXX,XXX and I will get there with or without you. I prefer to get there with you!”
You don’t have to make up stories, be truthful…people will spot a fake and guess what…you will loose their confidence.
Ask questions first…do your presentation with answers to their needs or desires…follow up by answering their questions….if they are hesitant, don’t push! Find out why they are hesitant and respond to their concerns. Never Push. Make a follow up date to meet again.
A manipulative, high-pressure presentation is more likely to lose a recruit than to bring them on board.
Confidence
CEO’s are confident. You’re going to need to have confidence in yourself to make it as a network marketer. You won’t need to visit the shrink or anything that drastic, but you should work on boosting your self-esteem in order to become a better marketer to increase the number of members in your network.
If your new, you will stutter, you will make dumb mistakes, and you will become frustrated. But remember, you have something others want and need. Stand up, speak confidently, firm handshake, and remember, your are the hiring manager (sponsor) and you can choose to sponsor them or not.
That’s powerful.
Example: I was visiting with a person about my business opportunity. During the course of the “asking questions” session, I saw that he was not the person for MY business. I told him that I was looking for someone dedicate to building a business and will work for it. I told him that “while he would good at network marketing, he didn’t fit want I was looking for.” He was surprised that I wasn’t begging him to sign-up, but instead willing to walk away. Several day’s later he called me and asked me to sponsor him. My response was that I would, however he need to show ME that he was willing to follow my directions and work…
The take-away is: Be Willing To Walk Away From Anyone Your Not Comfortable With.
That’s Confidence
Touch base with your potential leads, downline, and other marketing resources as often as possible. Keeping your relationships alive will get you new sign-ups, but also open you up to resources that your colleagues will find as they run their business. If you’re willing to share with them, they’ll usually return the favor.
Show your new sign-up how they can be the CEO of their own business.
Finally
As you can see from the above list of tips, the network marketing opportunity can be very easy or very hard, it’s your choice. As the CEO you have something people want. But keep in mind, not everyone is your potential prospect. Your business will be build with people you haven’t met.
The answers to your questions and a presentation around the answers is powerful. Solve your prospects problems!
After following these tips, you will no longer be new to this kind of marketing, but you can become a network marketing CEO.
So again, is the network marketing opportunity Easy or Hard?
Thanks, and here’s to your success,
