SEO Mistake

The BIG mistake most people make is they go looking for the cheapest solution, and sign up with a “search engine optimization (SEO)” firm that is, well, cheap. You may pay $200-300 per month and when you don’t get results the logical conclusion is that SEO does not work.

SEO works if you do it right.  The key is to get it RIGHT

But what’s wrong with my SEO?

It’s like when you have a headache or a dreaded sinus infection. If you take a quarter of an aspirin or just the first dose of antibiotic, you’re not going to feel better. To get well you need to take the full dose, 2 aspirin or the full 10-day course of antibiotics.

Digital marketing is the same. 

To get results you want, your home business needs do a whole lot of things right. Over 90 variables are at play. Did you read that…. 90 variables.

Social Media Marketing

Do you market with Facebook?  Learning Facebook will take time and effort.  Just when you get it right, Facebook makes a change.  Facebook is an excellent way to market your business and highly recommended.

Twitter is another way to market your home based business.  Fun, fast to learn and can get you noticed.  Problem, you have to say everything in 140 charterers.  I highly recommend you use Twitter for your business.

If you are not on YouTube, you are making a huge mistake.  Again, I highly recommend you use YouTube in your marketing mix.

Squidoo, Linkedin, Pinterest, Forums and the list goes on.  See what I mean..over 90 variables.

Confused?  So are many other marketers.

There are key tasks that need to be done as well as offsite tasks and social media tasks. As mentioned, social media – sites like YouTube, Pinterest, Slideshare and a whole host of others you may have never heard of to help potential people to find you.

Yes it takes time, but I’m sure you spent many months working on your business and you finely realized you are getting nowhere.

If you are like me, you’re doing too many things all at one time.  FaceBook is awesome, Twitter is great, YouTube is a must have as are all the other social media sites.

You can’t do them all

Focus your attention on one program…just ONE

Your next question is. “which one”?  That is a lot more difficult to answer since I don’t know you or your habits.

Do you like being on camera or making Power Point Presentations?  Great that’s the one to master.  If your answer is NO.  Scratch that off your list for now.

As mentioned, Facebook is awesome.  Facebook will get you noticed and able to make money with your business.  Study this social media and become an expert.  But remember, you’re working on Facebook and No other at this time.

The same is true for all the other social media programs.  Focus on one until you have mastered that site and then, but only then do you go to another.

Remember the age old question, “How do you eat an elephant”? “One bite at a time”.

Take on too much and you will loose focus.  Loose focus and you will become frustrated and frustration will lead to anger and quitting.

So the question today is: “take on the 90 variables or focus on one thing at a time and move forward”.
