Here are a few thought on how to Earn Some Extra Cash With A Home Business. Having a home business has a lot of benefits, but there are also some disadvantages. It’s difficult to get any work done when family, friends, and neighbors don’t understand that you are working because you’re at home. Young children need to be taken care of and it’s not possible to run a business effectively while taking proper care of children.

My War Room
I have what I call the “war room”. When I am in the war room my family knows that I am working for them. This is where I do my marketing, coaching, training and where I make money. As a home based business owner, I do limit my time in my home office. Every two hours I take a half hour off to be with the family or “honey do’s”. Then back to the war room. After about five hours I am done for the day. Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s are family days and relaxing.
Marketing your way to making money online
My war room is designed with “to-do notes”, a white board with ideas, dates for webinars and a daily and weekly schedule for marketing, and follow-up with potential prospects.
A Daily and Weekly Schedule
Draw up a workable schedule so your business doesn’t interfere with your personal life or vice versa. Determine the time of the day in which you refrain from taking business calls. My daily schedule is broken into half hour segments. I normally start at 9:00 AM. From 9:00 to 10:00 AM I format a Get Response email to potential prospects. From 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM is my time for personal training such as Facebook or Blog Training, etc. 11:00 AM to 11:30 is break time. 11:30 to noon is checking my emails and at noon a break for lunch.
Schedule your day for greater success
The afternoon consist of writing blogs, posting links, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Around 4:00 PM I am done for the day. A hard day is 5:00 PM. As mentioned I take a half hour off for every two hours of marketing. On a weekly schedule, I plan on which days I market, which days I do keyword research for my Internet marketing and which days I work on my blog, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Squido and other social media programs.
By looking at my weekly schedule I am never at a loss as to what I am doing today. This is a routine I have used for years and works. My family is happy, I get work done and my business partners gets the attention they deserve by being on the “team”
Home Based Business Tools
Any business has some basic tools. A lawn care business has tools to do the job. Auto repair has tools to repair automobiles and craft shop has tools to do business. Your Internet business or Network Marketing, MLM Business has some basic tools. If you want to make money blogging, again you need some basic tools. Your home office needs some basic tools.
- Computer
- Printer
- Software
- Phone
- Work station
- Pens, pencils and paper
- Journal
- Books
For fun, I like to have a Green Desk Lamp. Underneath, are notes to myself. Basic stuff. Noticed I said BOOKS. Necessary! I have a whole wall full of books. Books like Think and Grow Rich, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Robert Schuler, Tony Robins and Zig Zigular are just a few. Necessary because you will have good days and bad days. These will help you overcome any to these ups and down.
I read 30 minutes a day from any of my 60 books. I just picked up two books on Copy Writing. More on this later.
Software…since I spend a great deal of time blogging and article writing, I use software programs to help me get ideas as well as research.
Keyword Research
Finding the right KEYWORD is critical to ranking on the front page of Google. While the Google Keyword Planner is great for doing keyword research, I find I like Market Samurai for finding the “right” keyword as well as SEO ranking. Article Builder is another program I use. While this program is OKAY, it can become very generic and over time, each article will look like the others. I use Article Builder for ideas.

First, I am not an account or do I know all the IRS rules about tax deductions for a home based business. Check with your accountant to help you with this part. But currently, you are able to deduct your home office, utilities associate with the home office, all your supplies, equipment for your business, travel and misc expenses. Again check with your accountant for the latest IRS rules To qualify for a tax write off, the equipment must be primarily used by the business and necessary for your business to run properly.
Keeping Focused
When operating a home business, one of the most important strategies you can use is staying focused. There are many daily distractions that can tempt you to waste your valuable time but if you practice staying focused on your goals, you will find that you will see results more quickly.
Again, my war room is my place of business and the family knows that while I am working I should not be disturbed. I have schedule enough time to be with the family during the day and weekends so that the family is Okay with my home business.
If you’re doing Facebook marketing, focus on Facebook. If you are an affiliate marketer, focus on affiliate marketing. If your desire is to build a Network Marketing Business, focus on getting new distributors and customers.
What I see many armature marketers do is to do too many things at a time. The problem is not being good and any given task. This leads to frustration, disappointment and eventually quitting. Be good at one thing before going on to another.
Against my advice, a good friend said he knew how to do Internet Marketing. He didn’t need advice on how to get it done. After months of struggling, he finely admitted that he spread himself too thin. Today he is “focused”. His Internet business is taking off and he is making money online.

Home Business Start-up Cost
Mentioned earlier, you need some basic tools to get your business going. When you are starting a home business, the first thing you need to do is to sit down, and figure out how much it will cost to actually start it. It is important to be realistic with the costs of the business so that you can be sure that you will be able to afford it.
There are some people who jump right into their business without creating a budget, and they end up failing. If your business is MLM or Network Marketing, there will be a cost to join the MLM Company. If there are supplies, purchase them. If your business is Affiliate Marketing, there is a cost to get started. You may need a website or a blog platform.
Your business maybe built on email lists, this will require a good autoresponder. I recommend Get Response. Earlier I mentioned books. Buy them it is an investment in your future. Do not “skimp” but be aware of your budget. You may be able to get by with the basics today but plan on adding to your business later with the necessary tools, supplies or equipment as your business grows.
Blogging As A Home Based Business
Knowing how to market online is the key to a good income. When you write blog posts and other articles or participate in forums that discuss subjects that relate to your business, people will begin seeing you have a strong foundation and start relying on your expert opinions. This will bring customer to your business and increase your profits.
Blogging can make you money
Blogging will take time to be noticed. If you blog daily and I mean daily you will start to get noticed in about 90 to 120 days. I said noticed. Your blog will not even begin to be Google noticed for those critical days.
