Your sponsor has shown you how to make money and grow your business.  You’re thinking can it really be that easy?  You have a multi-level business and your struggling or frustrated.  These are all real feelings.

Question; Do you want to succeed as a network marketing professional? Then I advice you read on as you have a lot to learn on “How To Fail In Network Marketing.”

Humans by nature are inspired by success stories.  I love success stories because they can be inspiring.  However, there are people who fail in network marketing.  By understanding the failures we can learn valuable lesson and how to avoid the mistakes.  I also believe you learn and build your experience not only from the success but also from failures.

Success stories sometimes attracts dreamers, tire kickers, non motivated and let’s face lazes, but failure stories can attract serious minded people that have the ability to learn from the mistakes of the failure.

While I don’t like to see people fail, in life, it happens.  We see it every day in people all around us and in every business.  Why do they point that out in network marketing?  That is a whole new article.  Just understand people fail in every walks of life, being it business, marriages, political, life.

I have been in the network marketing industry going on 7 years.  I have seen people succeed and I have seen people quit. For some the task was too much, too hard and too much work.  They didn’t see the potential in the network marketing industry.

Many see an “opportunity,” and not a real business.  Many see dollars and not DOLLARS!!!

There are no bad business or investment opportunities. What we have are bad entrepreneurs and investors.” – Robert Kiyosaki

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I started in the MLM business through a friend.  This was a large company and one of the top MLM Company in the industry. After hearing his business opportunity and the potential I felt it was worth giving a try.

There was my first mistake.  “I’ll give it a try.”

The reason I am sharing this story is to make you realize that even in a land flowing with milk and honey, many will still die of hunger. In a land of tremendous opportunities, many will still die poor.

Why Do People Fail?

Why Do People Fail?

So why do people fail and how you can avoid their mistakes?

Here Are 6 Reasons Why Some Fail to Build a Network Marketing Business

1. Not being prepared

The first reason why I see some fail to succeed in the network marketing industry was lack of preparation. They weren’t prepared for the requirements of the business. One requirement of building a successful network marketing business is your investment of time.

Network marketing is a business that requires your time more than your money.  What I see is many don’t give the network marketing business the time it deserves.  Too many distractions and not enough focus.

Many fail because of the low cost to start a home business.  For some there is no urgency.  This is a hobby, “I can always do this tomorrow.”

 2. Make no mistake…this is a business

Most people have already failed from the first day they set out to build a network marketing business because they started with the wrong perception.

Instead of being told this is a “business” they are told about the product.  They are told, that “all you have to do is find others and recruit them into the business opportunity.”  They are shown how they can make money with little risk and stress.  Just recruit more distributors…EASY.

I believe this perception is one of the major reasons why most network marketers fail to breakthrough.  Yes it is EASY after you put in the time and are prepared for success.

So if you want to succeed as a network marketer, you must bear in mind that network marketing is a “business.”  Just like any brick and mortar business, you have management, accounting, sales, daily routines and planning: you can’t ignore any of these.

3. Lack sales skills

Lack Of Sales Skills...or Push Marketing

Lack Of Sales Skills…or Push Marketing

When signing up as a distributor for a multi level marketing business; it doesn’t occur that they will have to sell on a one-on-one level.  I hear this a lot, “I can’t sell,” or “I don’t like to sell.”  Let’s address that:

Did you know that you sell every day?  That’s right, you sell every day.  Have you ever looked for a job?  You’re selling.  Have you ever recommended a restaurant?  You’re selling.  Watched a good movie?  You’re selling.  Are you dating or married?  You’re selling.  Have kids, your are defiantly selling.

Selling is nothing more that presenting your views or experience.  It’s making a recommendation.  It’s explaining something you want others to see or experience.  I don’t like selling either.  But I do like presenting.  I also like marketing.

The difference between marketing and sales is that marketing is done through a system while sales is done on a personal level.

Today, selling (presenting) is one of my strengths only because I like to present my product or business opportunity.  I firmly believe in my product and business opportunity.  When you firmly believe in the product or MLM Company,  It’s not SELLING.

4. Afraid of rejection

Fear Of Rejection

Fear Of Rejection

Fear of rejection or the word NO is a real fear.  A big part of our fear of rejection may be our fear of experiencing hurt and pain. Our aversion to unpleasant experiences prompts behaviors that don’t serve us.   See Deconstructing The Fear Of Rejection

Present your business opportunity to a friend and they “rejected your proposal,” is divesting. I understand that. You know they would be good, they could become successful, but they rejected your business opportunity and/or product.  They Rejected You!!

Again lets address this important issue.

They didn’t reject YOU!  They rejected the product or business opportunity.  Or maybe they rejected your presentation because they didn’t have enough information to make a decision.

Here is my position:  Not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur.  Not everyone is cut out to be in network marketing.  Not everyone is cut out to use my product.  They didn’t reject me they rejected my business.  Rejection is a way of life.  Expect it and move on to the next rejection.  Soon, someone will purchase or sign-up in your business opportunity.

Fight your fears. Rejection is not going to kill you; in fact, you are going to be rejected but it’s up to you to learn how to make a success out of that rejection.  Learn from the No’s and why they said NO.

5. No leadership skills

Lack of leadership skills is the reason why many people fail in any business; this is true in Network marketing where you recruit average people and turn then into great leaders and entrepreneurs.

It’s a business where you maintain a personal relationship with your down and up-line distributors. It’s a business that involves teaching and helping others replicate your success strategies. All this comes down to leadership skills.

Don’t have leadership skill?  I’ll bet you do.  You just don’t know it yet.  Leadership can and does come over time.  A leader is just someone who has taken the lead and helps others through action or example.

6. Quitting is not an option

After spending several years in the networking marketing business; I re-evaluated myself and realized that I wasn’t growing the way I thought I should.  I saw others, who I thought was less qualified make multi-level marketing a good business

Failure is not longer an option

opportunity for them.

Instead of sharpening my skills and investing more time, instead of seeking counsel from successful multi level marketers; I took the easy route. I Quit!

Why?  I have no reason.  No excuses.  I just quit.  Huge mistake.  A good friend set me down and told me that “Quitting Was Not A Option.”  You never get anywhere in life by quitting.

Finally

I have seen people who started out just like me and went on to become millionaires in network marketing because they did not quit.  They put in the time, did not accept rejection, looked at this as a Business and not a hobby.  They developed skills and used this business opportunity to grow both financially but also personally.

What of Today?

Today I have a successful network marketing business.  I learned from my mistakes.  I stay positive and surround myself with positive people.

I found a mentor who used a very powerful concept called Attraction Marketing.

Attraction Marketing taught me how to become the hunted and not the hunter.  It allowed me to find only qualified prospects.  People who have a desire to own and operate a home based business.

In conclusion, these are the six reasons why I see many people fail to build a successful network marketing business.

To be honest; these reasons are worthless.  They are only excuses.

If you’re in network marketing, never quit.  Look for a mentor.  Use the power of Attraction Marketing and never ever stop learning.  This is a great business and professional.
