To begin with what is your reason for starting a network marketing business or a work at home program? Be clear on your decision. Lot of people start only to realize this was not cut out for them. Set down, be yourself and think it through
before you commit to joining a MLM Company. When you do join, make it your goal to be successful and do what ever you can to make it work.
Most people think their WHY or reason is “to make money.” But that’s only the surface layer. Your why is usually related to a more deeply rooted issue that money could fix. While making money is a good reason, I find that most people are looking for Time. Time to do what they want when they want to do it. I find many are looking for financial freedom. Pay off debts. I also find they want to pursue a passions or purpose. Many want to quit their job and enjoy life on their terms.
Once you have made the decision to start a home based business, action must follow. Your friends, family and down-line needs to know that you are committed to a purpose, a passion and not just trying something.
Make it crystal clear to your friends, family and down-line that you’re building a business with your MLM Company and that you intend to become successful .. with or with-out them.
Your posture and mindset are critical components to create success when your just getting started.
Successful Network Marketing Professionals
Next, you want to align yourself with successful people who not only have experience in Network Marketing, but also have made money. This is important to your success..read that again. I recommend you connect with the most successful distributor in your sponsor’s lineage or find a mentor who is willing to help you. You will find that people in Network Marketing are willing to help anyone who is serious in building a successful business.
Top money earners typically have achieved that level of success because they understand how to get results. Find out how they did it and study what it takes to be successful, not only in your MLM Company, but in the network marketing profession. Be a student of the profession!
If you have the opportunity and resources to meet and train with leaders, I highly suggest taking advantage of it. People follow people, not companies.
Follow a Proven System
Once you have joined your selected MLM Company, following a system is essential. Typically, the company will have a system. If you find you are having problems, seek help with your mentor or you may even look to a outside coaching company to assist you.
You have to commit to being coachable until you have a success story of your own. In the meantime, be excited to share the success stories of others in your company to let your personal network know you are working with established leaders in the profession.
This step will help you validate your decision and takes the focus initially off of you. It will spare you the unfair questions many hear in the beginning of their career, such as, “Have you made any money yet?” Learn how to leverage the leaders in the MLM Company and your up-line. Again stories of success is very powerful.
MLM Company Events Can Grow Your Business
Once your team starts growing, learn how to promote event to assist in the duplication and training process. Events can be a very powerful way to grow your Network Marketing Business and keep those who are committed in your down-line growing. I have seen many new marketers go to an event by them self only to return next year with a team and the following year with an even larger dedicated team.
Company events help raise not only your belief level, but your team’s as well. In addition, it gives you the ability to recruit and train in waves. If you are not in the business of identifying and developing leaders, you will never experience the true power of leverage this business model can create.
Brand yourself as a leader. Do the things that other won’t do. Set a marketing budget. As a business, it’s impossible to run a successful business without ongoing marketing. Handing out flyers in the parking lot of malls or being a pest by trying to recruit everyone is not a professional marketer. This is your business and you can choose who want in your business.

You are going to have to start looking at your business as an enterprise with multiple components. There are traditional marketing strategies as well as online marketing strategies that work. Learn how to combine the two, because they are equally important. The ultimate marriage is when one feeds the other
