Practical Guidelines For
Social Media Marketing Strategies
By Bill Fletcher
Everybody is ready to try their hand with social media marketing (SMM). Using social networking to promote a business can be very rewarding, but it also takes time and efforts. That said, using these proven SMM strategies will help you hit the ground running.
A good way to advertise your business is through Twitter. Once you understand how it works, you will see the potential for hundreds, or even many thousands, of new customers. Learn about hashtags, keywords, and other aspects of Twitter.
Regularly create new blog posts. When you do this, readers can have some idea when new content is coming and will be there waiting for it. It’s the same concept that is used by publishers of printed magazines and newspapers. Be sure you stay consistent so that visitors want to come back.
Update your blog with new and interesting information frequently. Post any promotions or sales you have via your blog. Also post any other important news, such as new locations, special closing, change in hours, etc. be sure to add it to your blog also.
Don’t just post the same tweets over and over if you advertise your business on Twitter. Vary your content to help create excitement and interest. Tweet advice and useful information that is relevant to your market niche. Your subscribers are more likely to maintain interest in your content when you mix these tweets in conjunction with ones that you use to promote your products and services.
Twitter is a more demanding network because it requires constant communication with followers, but it is also the most recommended. Thank people that mention you, and answer questions that are posed to you. This will build a good social relationship with those that visit your site. When you stay in touch with people, you come across as a genuine person, rather than some faceless business.
Use links to tie together your various social media sites. Put up links on your site or blog to your Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter accounts. Use your Twitter account to promote your blog. Make it all work together. These links will help you reach out to a wider audience and the same people will be exposed to your content more than once.
Add a Facebook “like box” where visitors can easily see and click it. This can let people “like” you on your Facebook page. By placing this on your blog it lets your consumers “like” you without even needing to go to your page. This makes it simple for people and helps expose your presence more.
YouTube can be a great tool for attracting visitors. YouTube is an attractive marketing strategy that is effective, because videos give people instant information about products or services. The more visitors who come to your site with knowledge of your products will help increase sales.
These tips won’t help you with absolutely everything, but they’re a good starting point. Because of the nature of social media, it completely changes about every two years. Be ready to keep up! Use everything you can to to give yourself an advantage over your competitors. Good luck.
