You stand in front of the camera…
Ready to shoot your video to post on social media and all of a sudden…
You start clearing your throat…
Biting your nails…
Sweating…
Standing in silence…
And before you know it… you’re behind the camera, turning it off and telling yourself that tomorrow will be the day that you start up trying to shoot that video again.
Does that scenario sound familiar at all?
If you’re anything like me when I first started out recording short videos for my business, I had a very real fear of getting on camera. It actually took me months to get the courage to start shooting videos…
… and once I finally gained the courage to hit record and start talking…
If this has ever happened to you, this blog post will be very helpful. I’ll share 3 different styles of video that you can utilize in order to get more leads, build a stronger brand and make more sales with online video.
69% Video Traffic Takeover
According to Cisco.com, by 2019, Mobile Video will generate more than 69% of Mobile Data Traffic.
So what does this mean for you and your business? Video marketing isn’t going anywhere and it’s only going to continue to become a stronger more vital necessity for your business.
You can either wait until 2019 like all the other procrastinators start frantically implementing video into their marketing…
Or you can take advantage now and start utilizing video in your marketing to get way ahead of the curve and profit now.
But what if you just hate getting on camera and want to start using video now?
Here are 3 Alternatives so you can still thrive with using video marketing for your business.
Alternative #1: Screen sharing Videos
These videos are a great way for you to show your knowledge and position yourself as an authority in your niche.
Screen share videos are great for:
- Tutorials
- How To Videos
- Step by Step Training
You’ll need a software to record your screen. Here are some great options for editing software and screen recording software:
- Snagit
- Jing
- Screenflow
- Camtasia
- Mac Users: Use iMovie for editing
- PC Users: Use Windows Movie Maker for editing
Remember, you can always start out with free versions of any software or resources you already have included on your computer. Get yourself used to the process of recording screenshare videos and then continue to invest in software that will further enhance your editing of your videos.
Alternative #2: Animated Videos
I find that these styles of videos are super engaging. I’ve definitely caught myself glued to the screen watching these type of videos from start to finish.
If you want to create these videos on your own…
I recommend powtoon.com and utilize their software and tutorials to create high engaging videos.
I am not super tech savvy and have found this software to be super simple to use.
You can also choose to outsource the videos on fiverr.com. You’ll find tons of independent contractors that will create animated, cartoon or even talking puppet videos for you. All you have to do is create the script and give them clear instructions on what you want.
What’s cool about fiverr is that most of these videos should only cost you five dollars to create. So you can pay five bucks and have someone else do the heavy lifting for you while you spend your time focused on another area of your business.
Pretty cool right?
Alternative #3: Power Point Slide Videos
These are my favorite videos to utilize especially for sales pages.
I’ve also had a lot of students of mine utilize this style of video for tutorial and training videos.
You can use software like Power Point or Keynote to set up your slides.
Quick Tip: Keep the amount of words and images you utilize on each slide to a minimum. You want people to listen to your words, not get focused on reading
your slides.
WARNING – Who Else Are You Holding Back From Success?
Before you go…
Ask yourself these two questions:
- What were my reasons for starting my own business?
- What are my fears of getting in front of the camera?
If your reasons for starting your own business are anything like these:
- To help people
- To make money and change my current circumstances
- To become an inspiration for my kids
- To create a legacy
- To help others retire from their jobs
- To help employ more people
- To make a difference
And if your reasons for NOT getting in front of the camera are anything like these:
- I don’t like the way I look
- I worried that I’ll sound stupid
- I don’t like the sound of my voice
- What if I offend someone
- I am afraid I won’t know what to say
- I don’t have the best quality camera
I empower you to take a good hard look at your fears of being in front of the camera and see if they are in alignment with how you want to help and make a difference in the world with your business.
Ask yourself:
- Is my fear of the way I look on camera holding someone else back from hearing my message and joining my team so they can retire from their job?
- Is my fear of not having the best quality camera holding me back from changing my current circumstances?
- Is my fear of offending one person with my videos stopping someone else from being able to buy one of my products and change their current circumstances?
Especially if you are branding yourself and people will be looking to you for training and leadership…
The faster you can rip the band-aid off and shoot videos with you on camera…
The better.
No matter which style of video you choose to start with… START TODAY.
Someone needs to hear the message you have to share. You never know whose life and business will be impacted once you hit record AND upload your videos. ?
