Ways To Take Your Affiliate Promotion Higher

By Bill Fletcher

Affiliate marketing draws so many people because there are very few barriers to entry. It requires no inventory purchase, no machinery, no shipping or any other product handling. It is not as easy as it first appears, however. It takes a committed effort if you want to develop a reliable income stream.  There are many ways to take your affiliate promotion higher.  I will only hit upon a few in this post.

Be honest about the affiliate marketing program you are working with. Present this activity positively. With affiliate marketing, always strive to be honest. There’s a good chance that when your readers understand the reason behind your affiliate marketing program, they’ll respond better to the links you post on your website.

As an affiliate marketer, partner yourself with affiliates that offer things that you are actually motivated to sell. That is, pick products or services that you like.  Joining different programs will provide you with multiple streams of income. Don’t simply sign up for the first affiliate programs you encounter.  Look around and find programs you truly feel comfortable with.

Funnel your advertising through like minded affiliate sites that are targeting your preferred customer niche. Visitors to your website will appreciate being offered a choice of links to follow to make purchases; with your affiliate programs arranged properly, you can make money on whatever choice they make.

If some of your affiliate programs are not making enough money, drop them as soon as possible, and only keep the ones that generate the most profit. Consistently and thoroughly monitor your affiliate’s performances. Getting rid of affiliates that do not perform well will leave more room for better paying advertisers.

Picking only the super hot products to promote may not help your affiliate sales. You want to have quality products but it does not mean that you will be popular. Competition can often be incredibly tight in these types of markets. Profit may not be a possibility.

Dip in to secret links. There are plenty of ways to discreetly spread links throughout your content. Be honest with your visitors if you do this, though. Give readers a bit of information and context for each link so they know what to expect and have no surprises.

Carefully decide what content your site links to before adding it. It is more efficient to find a formula to select affiliate links in order to ensure profitability.

Write a note by hand, scan it, then put it up on your site. Make your website your own and make it personal, this can drive traffic and boost profits. If your penmanship leaves something to be desired, hire a freelance writer to complete the project for you.

Use pop-under ads instead of pop-up ads. Many consumers use browsers which block pop-ups, meaning your site visitors might never see them at all. Research shows that viewers respond better to pop-under ads, which means you have a better chance of gaining their business.

You should be confident in the products you choose to promote. Your product recommendations have a reflection on your business and you. Your business can build up a base of loyal and trusting customers, but only if its products are high quality. A good way to keep customers is to always make sure your products come with high reviews.

As your business becomes more profitable, re-evaluate your goals. Aim high and work hard everyday to see an increase in your profits. It may seem frustrating at times, but if you stick with it, it can be very rewarding.

To your success
